Lanvin & Alber Elbaz Create A Dress for Minnie Mouse - Alber Elbaz has created a custom-made Lanvin dress for Disney’s Minnie Mouse to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Disneyland Paris. Elbaz’s inspiration stems from Minnie’s love of colours, jewelry and everything sparkly. In his opinion, Minnie is a true fashionista!
For Mr. Elbaz this project represents a sort-of “fantasy-meets-reality” that allowed child-like naivety and purity into his work instead of the usual “glossy” fashion stuff.
The final product, a lovely electric-blue evening gown decorated with all sorts of sparkling tidbits and topped off with a ruby red crown; absolutely fitting to Minnie’s happy personality.
For Minnie and Alber Elbaz, dreams really do come true!
Paperman by John Kahrs & Walt Disney Animation Studios - Papeman tells the story of a young man in mid-century New York City, whose destiny takes an unexpected turn after a chance meeting with a lovely woman on his morning commute. Absolutely convinced the girl of his dreams is gone forever, he gets a second chance when he spots her in a skyscraper window across the avenue from his dull office. With only his heart, imagination and a stack of papers to get her attention, his efforts are no match for what the fates have in store for him.
Director John Kahrs’ “Paperman” introduces a new groundbreaking animation technique that seamlessly merges computer-generated and hand-drawn animation techniques. This approach tugs at our nostalgic heart strings, as our longing for those o.g. hand-drawn animations can be fulfilled, while we can still marvel at how fascinating computer animations have become.
Using a minimalist black-and-white style, reminiscent of Steamboat Willie, John Kahrs has trully captured are heart with “Paperman” and has almost all of us saying “awww shucks. this is so cute.”
“Paperman” is nominated for Best Animated Short Film at this year’s Oscars. Enjoy!

Star Wars Episode 7 Announced for 2015 as Disney Buys Lucasfilm -Earlier today Disney announced that they have acquired George Lucas‘ Lucasfilm Ltd for $4.05 billion, in a deal that includes rights to the Star Wars franchise. The announcement has had a very polarized reaction from Star Wars fans who are either ecstatic about the new films or horribly disappointed by Mr. Lucas. We are personally looking forward to seeing what kind of Jedi Mind Tricks the Disney team have been readying for 2015. Maybe they will even cast Mickey Mouse as a real Jedi. lol.
Here is what George Lucas has to say about it:
For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next,” said Lucas. “It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime. I’m confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney’s reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products.
Props to you Georgie.
